The ISCMP Bureau and Networking Commission are pleased to announce that we are currently planning our 1st International Workshop!
The 1st ISCMP International Workshop will be held in hybrid format (both in person and online) and we are seeking a host and sponsors for this event! We are looking for partners and a space that will facilitate a dynamic workshop-style gathering. This will allow all of you to meet informally, share your expertise, and collaborate.

We are currently seeking more National Committee ISCMP Voting Members to effectively run elections with diverse representation. In order to identify further Voting Members, the elections have been postponed. If you are an Expert Member of ISCMP, please reach out to your National Committee to request that a Voting Member be selected. A letter from the National Committee must be sent confirming the Voting Member to muralpainting@icomos.org. Only one designated Voting Member from each National Committee can vote for the Bureau. The current Membership and Voting Members are identified on our Membership page.
Elections for the Bureau will be held virtually from January 16th – January 22nd, 2023.
The ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Mural Painting researches and promotes the understanding, protection, conservation and management of mural paintings and their value and significance.
Expressions of interest are invited from those with an established interest / experience in the conservation of mural paintings to join the newly re-formed ISCMP—the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Mural Painting.
On February 9, 2022, a meeting was held by ICOMOS to revive and reorganize the ICOMOS International Scientific Committee on Mural Painting (ISCMP). The meeting invitation was sent to all existing Committee members and ICOMOS members who expressed an interest in joining this Committee. During this meeting, the ICOMOS Secretary General Mario Santana and President Mikel Landa requested volunteers, to support Clemencia Vernaza on a Steering Committee that would revise the Committee By-Laws, increase Committee membership, and hold elections for the Committee Bureau. The volunteers for the Steering Committee are:

The Steering Committee has met regularly since March 4, 2022 to revise the By-Laws by group consensus and will prepare the new Bureau election. Meetings were recorded with minutes. The Steering Committee will be dissolved when the new Bureau is in place.
